Matt is the Co-Practice Lead and Managing Director responsible for the market strategy, growth and talent within the Global Strategic Sourcing & Business Operations Practice. He has extensive strategic and operational consulting experience with a broad range of Fortune 500 companies, as well as privately held organizations ranging from $150M - $3B in revenue.
Matt has led engagements focused on strategic sourcing, merger & acquisition due diligence and integration, operational assessment & improvement, organizational planning & design, cost avoidance & recovery and labor optimization. Furthermore, his expertise spans across sectors, such as legal, financial services, private equity, airline, technology, retail and transportation services.
Matt's experience includes helping guide clients focused on streamlining operations and enhancing cross-functional collaboration efforts across domestic, European, South American and Asian operations. Additionally, he has published and been quoted in multiple articles focused on law firm mergers and other operational efficiencies for Law360, The Recorder, Legal Management, Law Technology News and ALM.
Prior to joining HBR Consulting, Matt was a founding member and Director at Blue Hill Consulting Group, where he focused on servicing the portfolio companies of Private Equity firms, as well as law firms. Prior to Blue Hill, he was a Manager in Huron Consulting Group's Operational Consulting practice.
Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University with concentrations in Management & Strategy, Management & Organizations and Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Matt also has held his Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M) designation since 2005.
