Sally is recognized as one of the top consultants in the world in the area of legal knowledge management. As a senior director for HBR Consulting and the leader of its IT Strategy practice she is known as a leading expert in strategic technology planning and benchmarking, knowledge management, and information management for the legal services industry. She possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in information and knowledge management including the areas of compliance, risk management, records management, and litigation readiness. She has over thirty years of experience bringing the business and IT together in the planning and implementation of complex, information-intensive solutions that require tight integration of policy, process, people and technology. She brings to her clients strong leadership, facilitation, analytical and advisory skills combined with innovative thinking and practical implementation experience.
Sally's areas of expertise include strategic planning and benchmarking, legal project management and process improvement, knowledge and information management, organizational transformation, and tactical implementation through program planning and management. She is conversant in a wide range of information management technologies including enterprise search, e-mail and document management, and legal project management.
During her career, Sally has provided consulting services to the UK's "Magic Circle," Toronto's "Seven-Sisters" and AmLaw100 U.S. law firms as well as to the legal departments of global Fortune 100 companies.
Sally is on the Editorial Advisory Board of Law Technology News, is a sought-after speaker for industry and educational conferences, and has numerous articles published in the legal trade press. She has also served on the judging panels for several legal industry awards, including the Managing Partner Forum's Practice Management Awards and the Legal IT Awards.
Prior to entering the consulting arena, Sally served in senior leadership positions at several Top 20 U.S. law firms including as Chief Knowledge Officer and Chief Information Officer. In those roles, Sally helped these firms build and use both knowledge and technology resources to develop new client services and revenue sources, founded successful knowledge management programs and organizations, introduced Web-based services that fostered client intimacy and internal collaboration, and designed and managed the implementation of new enterprise-wide technology platforms and operating models.
Sally received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and completed Case Western's Executive Program in the Management of Technology at the Weatherhead School of Management.
